Make your event invite-only

Limit replies to people on your invite-only list, or let others ask and approve them yourself.

By default, anyone with your link can reply. An invite-only list lets you choose who can. In InviteEase this list is called the Whitelist.

Plan. Invite-only access is included with Host and Organizer. On a Free event the option shows that it needs an upgrade.

Choose who can reply

  1. Open your event and select Edit event.
  2. Select the RSVP & guests tab (Registration & guests for registration events). Under Joining & access → Who can RSVP (or Who can register), choose one:
Access options
OptionWhat happens
Open RSVP (Open for registration)Anyone with the link can reply.
Whitelist (block)Only people on your list can reply. Anyone else sees "This event is by invite only."
Whitelist (approval queue)People on your list reply as usual. Anyone else can still reply, but waits for your approval.

Select Save changes.

Build your list

Open the Guests tab and select Whitelist. Add people one at a time on the Manual tab, or upload a file on the CSV tab (see Import a guest list from CSV).

Guests are matched by phone number, so each person on the list needs one. If a guest replies with a different name or email from the one you entered, their details update to match what they submit.

Approve people who asked

  1. Open the Guests tab.
  2. Use the Awaiting approval filter to see who's waiting.
  3. Select Approve next to each person you want to let in.

You can also change their status in their row, or use Decline selected for several people at once. See Understand reply statuses.
